Buffalo Technology Linkstation Pro Duo 2TB NAS (2 x 1 TB)

So this is my first NAS ever purchased and I am quite impressed. I have had this for about 2 months now and haven't had any issues. It was simple to to do a basic setup to have my network recognize it and access via my computers connected on my network. I have a PC laptop, MacBook Pro, iPad, iPhone 4 & iPhone 4S, and a Wii currently connected to it via my network. Files are accessed easily and stream audio/video seamlessly. Transferring over movies over the network isn't by any means quick like it does when attached directly via USB but it works well and you can't tell any lag when transferring over basic, small files. I have this setup in RAID 1 to mirror the drives so I have a backup. I bought a refurbished model didn't come with any documentation but there is stuff online through Buffalo's site. I did have issues trying to setup access outside of my network but I finally gave in and called Buffalo's tech support to help and they were extremely helpful and I had that feature enabled in a just another minute or so. It's by far my favorite feature to access all my docs, movies, music anywhere I have access to the internet. If I had to purchase again, I wouldn't think twice about picking up another one of these.

Buffalo Technology LinkStation Pro Duo 4GB SATA 3 Gb/s USB 2.0 Network Storage Server - Refurbished

Just starting to move all my data over, but so far so good... there is a compatibility issue with this device (and others) and iTunes 10.5 - which is well documented all over apple's support website. I was hoping that the Direct Copy function would suck all data form an existing hdd, but i guess its only for certain file types.

Looking forward to getting everything moved over and start playing with deeper functions

LaCie 5big Network 2 - NAS - 10 TB - HD 2 TB x 5 - RAID 0, 5, 6, 10, 5 hot spare - Gigabit Ethernet - iSCSI

I hesitated a lot before buying this unit, and finally bought it. It's an amazing gadget, with plenty of features. I love everything about it: design, ease of usage. I'm happy I have it.

Servers

Servers have increasingly become an essential component for growing businesses and organizations. At most, computer servers have a dedicated functionality such as data storage, managing network resources, processing database queries, computations, and all other possible computer applications that it may operate. However, there are certain servers that may execute multiple commands, tasks or programs all at a time—these are run on multiprocessing operating systems. Because of its specialized design, servers provide maximum productivity and a more streamlined process of doing tasks.

As mentioned earlier, there are different servers in the market that fit the needs of your business. One of which is an FTP (file transfer protocol) server that allows files to be transferred orderly and securely. Web servers on the other hand load static content which is then being broadcast all over the network. The mail servers store or serve corporate e-mails of organizations or companies. A database server is a system that supports back-end computations and data analysis. A print server is a medium for printing tasks within a network. Application server is the middleman for executing specific computer programs, and a lot more.

Given the servers’ important role in running businesses, may it be from small business sector to enterprise, there are several physical servers that are designed for your needs. Blade servers are smaller and provide more space for your computer infrastructure. Rack servers are designed to be placed on rack cabinets to optimize operation space. Finally, tower servers provide more convenience since they do not need to be mounted on a rack cabinet and provide maximum scalability.

Here in PC Mall, we provide solutions to your business needs, with reliability and value in one. We’ve got the best quality and trustworthy servers from world’s recognized brands such as HP, IBM, Lenovo, Acer and more—all at great deals and discounts. That makes business sense.
